Day 1 Orisson overnight

Writer's picture: Robin RudwickRobin Rudwick

Sleeping in a dormitory - I've not done this for 50 years or so.

The evening meal at the refuge was pretty good - soup, roast chicken and vegetables followed by a Basque cake which was filled with an almond paste. Very nice if you're not diabetic. They also included red wine, which Ruth said was good. I was on the beer so didn't really care.

Getting to sleep was a bit strange. We were using just silk sleeping bags as it was so hot, even with the window open. We also had a snore chorus to serenade us.
