Day 12 - waiting for the bus

Writer's picture: Robin RudwickRobin Rudwick

We are still having to go by bus, waiting for Ruth's foot to improve. We went to a Farmacia yesterday to get her foot checked out. We had mislaid the first aid kit, left in the last Albergue and needed more supplies. The pharmacist recommended iodine as an antiseptic so we painted her foot a yellowy brown colour and slapped a massive dressing on it.

We've got a bus at 0830 but people in the dormitory were getting up at 0515. It's going to be 30°C+ today so they're walking in the cool of the morning.

So now we're waiting in a cafe by the bus

Station at 0735. Mind you the cafe is better than the usual bust station cafe in the UK.

I tried a triple deck sandwich of ham, boiled egg and cheese, which was ok but not outstanding. It kind of reminder me of eating a Big Mac - the picture and the idea are always better than the burger!

Weve also sent one pack on ahead, so Ruth doesn't need to carry anything today.

As she said earlier - it seems we've been away for months. But we feel the need to get walking again...
