We are staying at Albergue La Morena.
I was intrigued by the name. She was an original owner of this place many years ago, when the Camino was relatively unknown to foreigners. If you're interested, follow this link
The village here is a one horse, two Albergue place, with many locals drinking here at the Albergue as there's nothing else.
We spent the afternoon here after walking up to the church

, as you do in these places. They had a very nice pebble mosaic floor in the entrance, but the church was shut.

Anyway, we went back to the Albergue, where they make a very good blueberry smoothie.
We spent some time listening to Sam and Paul swapping war stories about what to do when attacked by monkeys, bears or cougars. We told them that we'd seen a large fox the day before! Possible conversation stopper!
We shared a table with Paul and Rose as they were stopping at Sahagún and we'd not see them again this trip. The meal was a bit average. The first courses were chickpeas or green beans, both a bit under seasoned. Second courses were grilled sardines or braised ox tongue. The sardines were OK, possibly could be crisper. The ox tongue was in a sauce which disguised it as 'mystery meat'. The texture was right for ox tongue but was overpowered by the sauce.
We spent some time discussing various meals like nasi goreng, bobotie, chicken tikka masala, Christmas Dinner and Nando's - a real eclectic mix. All in all, a great evening.
We then had fun trying to find where to leave the bag in the morning and how to sneak out at 0545.
