Day 2 - at Rancevalles

Writer's picture: Robin RudwickRobin Rudwick

Roncevalles is an old monastery converted into an Albergue. It is quite modern but very busy. The hamlet seems to exist only to service Camino travellers. There is a hole and restaurants as well, nothing else.

We tried to get drinks at Casa Sabina. It was painful. It was as if they were not expecting to be busy. The waiter was ok but struggling. Service did not get better in the evening. The evening meal was OK, nothing great - roast chicken and chips, plus soup and ice cream.

Our dormitory

Church at the monastery.

All in all it was good, not great here.
