We're on the way through Sahagún. This is today's bridge shot.

And the church shot.

This is on the route into Sahagun. The statues show many of the crops grown locally.

We weren't sure whether we believed the distance but it is roughly halfway to Santiago.

Sahagun was setting up for the bullfights. There were barriers everywhere around the Arena. We found out why we couldn't book a double room here - bullfighting is in town.

Sahagun was quite a nice town. We stopped for coffee and cake and chatted to the Americans. They were unsure as to whether they would bother to walk back to pay the breakfast bill, until we mentioned the Camino.

Some of the murals, Street art and Camino pavement symbols.

This was pretty much the walk from Sahagun to Bercianos - long straight path with some shade, by the side of the road.

This was our Albergue - Bercianos1900. It was very nice and we've managed to get a 4 bed room to ourselves. We've washed clothes drank beer, eaten our free sandwich (given to us for returning to pay our bill!)

It was tortilla in a bread roll - very nice.

They have these great seats at the bar. There's not much else in the village - a few albergues and one shop, so bread ham and cheese for tomorrow.

And I may have a blister problem. We'll see tomorrow,

Bercianos is not very big, not very busy. People from other Albergues came to ours for the Menu Día, which is a basic three course meal with Vino Tinto (Red wine). The food was pretty good, gazpacho soup or chickpeas, first course and chicken beef or pork cutlets and chips. There was also meatballs with lentils. All were OK. The fruit salad, or ice cream. As I said, it was ok.

We were eating with Paloma, a South African and very different to Rose a and Paul, an old Korean lady called Nan, who had walked fro. Arles, in France. She was interesting, but very quiet. I would like to have spoken more to her.

It was a quiet night and we were up early.

Practical Things I learned on the Camino

This journey is a marathon and not a sprint. Rest days are important! It's a Pilgrimage, not a route march. Take care of blisters as soon...
