Day 3 - Roncevalles to Zubiri - its not a walk in the park

The walk down to Zubiri was very steep and rocky.

The rock strata poked out of the hill side and path. It was starting to delaminate or break into thin layers.

Lorna and her friend were walking down a slope like this. Her friend tripped and banged her head. After getting up she had no recollection of what had happened and seemed disoriented. An American EMT was there and said it sounded like mild concussion. She was straight on to 112 for advice. She found it difficult to give a precise location, just somewhere between Erro and Zubiri. We left them to it as there were 8 or 10 people milling around.

After getting to Zubiri I remembered abou What3words that will give you a precise location as 3 words. Check out the app...

If you go to

You will see our location in Pamplona.

As to Lorna and her friend - we haven't seen them since.
